Starting at midnight on Friday 6th February, Stump the Hump 2015 challenges you to experience a day in the life of the Tuatapere Humpridge Track and walk all 62km in just 24hrs.
Please note this is not a race. In the organiser's words: "Anyone found running will be fed to the Taniwha."
Setting out from Rarakau, walk over sandy beaches and through Fiordland National Park to the top of the Hump Ridge by moonlight. Arriving at Okaka Lodge for hot porridge and a cup of tea, watch dawn break over Stewart Island and the Southern Ocean - a once in a lifetime experience. Heading down the Hump Ridge by early morning sunlight, walk over historic viaducts and arrive at Port Craig in time for a hearty bowl of soup and a sandwich. Finish your adventure with a Saturday afternoon stroll through native bush and a series of white sandy beaches to Bluecliffs Beach and back to Rarakau.
